A tour and taste of Yaqum, one of the most beautiful kibbutzim, founded before the State of Israel. Yaqum today will be compared with the photographs taken by the famous photographer Mordo Abrahamov who took weekly pictures documenting the kibbutz for decades from the very day it was set up.
Kibbutz member Prof. Amir Har-Gil, (lecturer at the University of Haifa and Netanya Academic College) will guide the tour, provide inside stories of the place and will point out the changes the kibbutz underwent over the years since its’ foundation up to its’ present form.
Yaqum is located 20 km. from Tel Aviv (about 15 minutes’ drive).
Different options can be included in the tour:
A meal at the kibbutz’ dining room.
Screening “The story of the settlement of Kibbutz Yakum“ during the tour, a film about the very first day of the kibbutz, 1947 (20 min.).
Locations of the cult film “MivtzaSavta” (Operation Grandma)-a satirical Israeli comedy about three very different brothers trying to get around many obstacles to bury their grandmother on her kibbutz.
Starting the tour with filming the most beautiful sunrise in the Sharon area coupled with morning coffee.
